Palm Sunday spinner
On Palm Sunday, Christians remember that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. The crowds welcomed him waving palm branches and shouting ‘Hosanna!’
You can make this simple spinner at home to mark Palm Sunday. When the straw is rolled in the hands, the word ‘Hosanna’ appears on the palm leaf. Children love watching this trick of the eye happen.
The spinner is very easy to make...
1) Draw and colour a palm leaf on one side of a piece of thick paper. Write Hosanna! on the other side. Fold along the dotted line.
2) Tape a straw to the back of one half of the paper, and glue the other half on top.
3) Swizzle the straw between your hands and watch what happens!
